Does this work for large sows and boars

Yes, we have (2) heaters that work with this waterer.

DE-ICER 250 WATT HEATER
This heater is placed in a compartment under the tank.

DE-ICER 1000 WATT HEATER
This heater is placed in the tank itself.

If you live in an area where it gets extremely cold, our suggestion is to utilize both heaters.

Is the opening of this tank large enough for mature sows to still access the water?

The drinking area is 18” wide, 17” high, x 9” deep.
